A showdown of epic proportions looms on Easter Monday (April 25) at Dover Raceway in St. Ann, as the nation’s top drivers prepare to put pedal to the metal in hot pursuit of bragging rights and glory at the Jamaica Race Drivers’ Club (JRDC) 2011 “Carnival of Speed”. Cast in the lead of this thriller are Doug “Hollywood” Gore and his ATL-sponsored Audi TT and reigning Caribbean champion David Summerbell Jr. in his Total-sponsored Mitsubishi Evolution 8.

Summerbell Jr. has secured pole position in the Thunder Sport and Modified Production classes following the qualifying events on April 24. Carnival of Speed is the first JRDC meet of the year. Upcoming events include the Kingston Grand Prix on Father’s Day (June 19) on the streets of downtown Kingston beside the waterfront; the first round of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (May 22 & 23); the Independence of Speed (August 6 & 7) and the Heroes of Speed (October 16 & 17).

Carnival of Speed will be streamed live on the Internet at courtesy of the Media Services department of Northern Caribbean University (NCU).
