No matter what mood you’re in, as soon as she sings the first note you’ll find yourself almost immediately surrendering to love. Goose bumps and a warm fuzzy feeling inside are natural responses to the talent and charm of Stephanie Wallace-Maxwell, who was recently among the featured performers at Plug N’ Play – the weekly live show at Wyndham Kingston Hotel’s Jonkanoo Lounge in New Kingston.

The last time Pree Jamaica saw Stephanie, she was “singing love” last year at Heather’s, another New Kingston night spot. She won us over easily then, her mellifluous voice setting hearts aflutter in the intimate setting. On this particular Friday night in July, she was equally excellent, if not better, and delighted the audience with songs from her catalogue as well as covers of popular and classic songs.

She showed versatility, style and substance, closing her set with “Right Here”, a smooth ballad that has been gaining traction through the recently released music video. There’s definitely something about Stephanie, a special quality that augurs well for her future in the music industry.
