If fashion were a confection, stylishly spun with milky goodness and delicately laced with caramel delight, it would have to be Dulce de Leche. The fashion event bearing the name of the irresistible sweet treat was always destined to be in good taste, and since the focus was on swimwear and lingerie, sexy proved to be both muse and motif on the night.
The ballroom of the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel took on a new life on June 25, conviviality and verve almost bouncing off its walls as Ocean Style Magazine and Appleton Genesis partnered to create the Dulce de Leche experience. Celebrities, socialites, industry insiders, media and members of the style elite traded pleasantries over martinis before the show commenced at 9pm.
Jamaica’s Sigail Currie and Trinidadian Alyssah Ali were among the models who paraded in swimwear from local and international designers such as Le Doux, Shan, Lucky Brand, Chio, Gucci, Anuna from Lubica and Jessica Simpson. Lingerie designs included Diepo, Hanky Panky, Passion Fruit, Only Hearts and Anya de Rogue.
