When the clock strikes midnight on December 12, Latifa Brown – the dancehall princess more popularly known as Tifa – will be officially celebrating her birthday with fans, family, friends and well wishers at her “Pink Xstacy” pink and white birthday beach bash, which is scheduled to take place at Sugarman’s Beach in Hellshire, St. Catherine on Sunday, December 11.

The event, which counts Nuvo and Digicel among its sponsors, will feature ZJ Chrome, Stone Love, Coppershot, ZJ Elektra, DJ Nicco and ZJ Liquid.

Two lucky fans who submit photos of their most ‘swagging’ pink and white outfit to Tifa’s social media pages on Twitter and Facebook will win three VIP tickets each, a Nuvo gift basket and luxury shuttle service to celebrate with Tifa. Patrons will be treated to free Pink Fire shots from 6-7 p.m., 2-for-1 Rum Fire specials all day and night, as well as Blackberry and Nuvo giveaways.

Tifa told Pree Jamaica that she’s looking forward to taking a break from her hectic work schedule and having fun at her party.

“I am constantly working, so I just want to have fun on that night. I’m going to be Latifa, not Tifa, and just have have fun like a regular person.”

Her birthday celebration is fitting icing on the cake for another year of success that has solidified her place as the leading female deejay in the business today.  She started 2011 by picking up a handful of Youth View Awards (Favourite Local Artiste of the Year, Female Fashion Icon, Favourite Female Dancehall artiste, Young Hot and Hype) and the EME Award for Best Female DJ, just rewards for her consistency and the quality of her musical output.

She has enjoyed local and international chart success with “Swaggin”, a collabo with Wayne Marshall and Fambo. She also enjoyed success on the charts and airwaves with “Dash Out” on the Overproof Riddim, “Matie Wine” and “Wedding Chapel” on the wildly popular Matrimony Riddim. Testament to her stellar year is the inclusion of two of her songs – “If I Could Fly” and “Swaggin” – on VP Records’ “Strictly The Best Vol. 44 & 45″.

She hasn’t had to opportunity to take and break and enjoy her birthday in the last three years, so it’s very likely that this upcoming birthday beach bash will be epic enough to compensate for past celebrations missed. The event starts at 2 p.m., and the cover char is $1,000 in pink or white and $1,500 without. Ladies are 2-for-1 before 6 p.m.
