Created in 2011 by fashion designer Juanita S. Reid, the Syiim swimsuit line will debut its first collection at this year’s staging of Caribbean Fashion Week (CFW) from June 7 to 11. The swim and resort collection, called Exhibela (from the Cuban salsa dance meaning “Exhibit her/Show her off”), is inspired by exotic tropical cultures, electric rhythms of the Caribbean and the festive beach and nightlife of the islands and places like Miami and Ibiza.

A cum laude graduate with a BFA in Fashion from of Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, Juanita grew up in Jamaica and has eight years of experience working in the industry in New York. According to her bio, she considers herself “a very hands-on designer who enjoys all aspects of growing a brand; from designing to sewing to organizing photo shoots”.

Great work Juanita. I especially love that black and white zebra styled piece. Would like to see your pieces on the model with a Hiphop body. You know, big butt, big chest.
