Usain Bolt, the Jamaican speed merchant who has been busy rewriting the record books over the past few years, recently hosted the local launch of his autobiography “Usain Bolt: My Story 9.58 – Being the World’s Fastest Man” at the Terra Nova All Suite Hotel in Kingston. Members of the sporting, entertainment, political and media fraternities gathered in the Venetian Room of the hotel for the sprint phenom’s special occasion.

During his turn at the podium, Bolt said he was releasing his autobiography at age 24 because  “he had a story to tell”. The 288-page illustrated autobiography, which Bolt co-wrote with British sports writer Shaun Custis, explores his outstanding achievements while providing insight into the man. Testimonials from those who have had a major influence in the young athlete’s life are also included. The book is published by HarperCollins and has already been supported by a promotional tour in the UK. It is being distributed in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean by Ian Randle Publishers.
