Telecoms company Claro has upped its marketing ante by sponsoring CA$H CAB, the latest game show to hit local television. The programme, which originated in the UK, features a specially outfitted cab that is used to pick up unassuming passengers as they go about their normal business. Once in the CA$H CAB, participating passengers become contestants who are quizzed on general knowledge questions en route to their destination.

The first four questions are worth $2,000 for each correct answer. The next four questions are worth $4,000 and then every question after is worth $8,000. Contestants can earn cash all the way to their destination, and have two lifelines in the Claro Mobile Shout-out (a call to someone for help) and the Claro Street Shout-out (asking someone on the street for help). However, if they supply three incorrect answers, the host pulls the cab over and ejects them onto the sidewalk no matter where they are.

There are other details, but that’s essentially the outline of CA$H CAB. The show is hosted by Felisha Lord and Wayne Whyte and will be aired on Television Jamaica (TVJ) on Mondays at 9 p.m. Red Stripe is an associate sponsor of the show.
