The Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival 2013 ended on a dynamic note with a steady climax of Jazz, reggae and R&B performances from artistes such as John Legend, Dionne Warwick, Monica, Romain Virgo and Chronixx. The three day Festival, held at the Trelawny Multipurpose Stadium from January 24-26, highlighted the diversity of performers that make Jamaica Jazz and Blues a must see event.

John Legend

John Legend became one with his piano on stage and gave a rousing performance on Saturday, ending with a soulful rendition of “Ordinary People”. The set reached another level when Tarrus Riley joined him on stage for the hit song “Stay With You” and Gramps Morgan for “Psalms 23″.

Dionne Warwick’s set was a soft and sweet odyssey through 40 years of musical eminence, while Monica delivered her R&B hits and added a reggae segment for good measure. Still in birthday mode, Romain Virgo gave one of his most mature performances on Saturday night, preceded by young and upcoming artiste Chronixx, who delivered a “righteous” set.
