On Tuesday, Grammy award-winning artiste @ZiggyMarley visited children at Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) to highlight the importance of healthy living. Marley – best known for his musical pursuits – has, in recent times, being a champion for organic foods. “Organic foods, that they can grow for themselves, is better for their bodies… better for their minds. It’s just a great way of life”, affirmed the reggae superstar as he gardened with the youngsters.
The LA-based musician often decries the deceptive best-practices of companies that produce genetically-modified foods. This led to the birth of several Marley-branded organic products, which he markets at www.ziggymarleyorganics.com.
There are two main lines:
1. Non-GMO verified Coco’Mon – flavoured organic coconut oils. The oils are cold-pressed from fresh coconut copra, unrefined, non-deodorized, gluten free and Kosher.
2. Non-GMO verified Hemp Rules – roasted, flavoured hemp seeds which are a source of easily digestible protein and Omega fatty acids. The seeds, sourced from Canada, are agricultural hemp and contain no THC and is also Kosher.
According to HOLA, their SmartStart elementary students and Marley, planted broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, herbs, and a variety of fruit trees. “I love kids and I love gardening, and I love helping out”, Marley stated. He wrapped up the visit by signing autographs and posing for pictures.
