The stars of the Caribbean shone brightly on music’s biggest night, impressing on the red carpet, rocking the stage and taking home gilded gramophone mementos at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 8, 2015. Ziggy Marley, the eldest son of Jamaican reggae legend Bob Marley, won his third solo reggae Grammy and seventh overall for his album “Fly Rasta”, while Bajan sensation Rihanna shared the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration Grammy with Eminem for “The Monster”.

Rihanna also graced the stage with Paul McCartney and Kanye West to perform their new collaborative release “FourFiveSeconds”. Trinidadian-born rapper Nicki Minaj, who hosted an exclusive pre-Grammy party in West Hollywood, was nominated for Best Rap Song (“Anaconda”) and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (“Bang Bang” with Jessie J and Ariana Grande). She commanded attention on the red carpet but went home empty-handed with a career Grammy record of six nominations and no statuette. Also in attendance was Jamaican dancehall artiste and former Grammy winner Sean Paul, whose album “Full Frequency” was nominated in the reggae category.
