Following up on her remix of “Bajo Otra Luz” on multi-Grammy Award-winning Canadian singer Nelly Furtado’s “Mi Plan Remixes” album last year, Jamaican producer The Wizard is at it again with two remixes of Furtado’s latest hit “The Night Is Young” from the album “The Best of Nelly Furtado”. The “Psychadelically Wiz Mix” and “Eclectic Dancehall Mix” by The Wizard are blazing hot and ready to ignite the club scene globally.

On the Eclectic Dancehall Mix, hard-hitting dancehall drum patterns are merged with scintillating electronic-styled grooves to create a bonafide club banger. Furtado is no stranger to Jamaican music, having incorporated island elements into her music throughout her career. Both tracks are available for download on iTunes and Amazon.

The Wizard, a multi-instrumentalist female producer who is holding her own in a male-dominated field, has over the past few months been quietly working on remixes for various pop stars under the Island Def Jam/Universal banner. FIWI Music, the home of The Wizard, made hints at several closely-guarded and sure-to-be-hit releases from local and international artistes. She has been working with many local artistes, such as Tami Chynn, Alaine, Timberlee and Macka Diamond. An assortment of “riddim-driven” and individual tracks from these and other artistes are currently in the pre-mix stage.

The Wizard has also logged studio time with another Canadian artiste – Juno-nominated R&B starlet Kreesha Turner. Turner, whose mother is Jamaica, was recently completing recording sessions for her upcoming album to be released by EMI.
