Impressive new space for The Face Place

Tucked away off the bustling and busy thoroughfare of Hope Road in St. Andrew, The Face Place Salon is sitting pretty in its new and impressive space on Carvalho Drive. The relocation from its previous spot on Constant Spring Road took place last November, and the salon’s director Marie Simone Hall-Smith recently staged an official opening of the chic beauty and spa establishment.

Founded by Hall-Smith’s late mother, Elima Hall, in 1973, The Face Place was born out of a need for beauty therapy services in the island. Now, 38 years later, it stands among the more prominent salons and spas in the country.

“The key to our longevity is maintaining high standards, both national and international, as well as good customer service and the quality of the products that we use,” explained Hall-Smith. She noted that the new location has allowed The Face Place to up the ante in terms of service offering.

“At our new location, we have five treatment rooms. We also have a sauna room, which has proven to be a popular luxurious service, especially with a body scrub pre-sauna and even post-sauna. We’ve recently added the Sothys range of products and treatment, and we also have our own line of products,” stated Hall-Smith.

“We also support local products. Island Botanicals in Montego Bay supplies us with essential oil soaps and we also support local jewellery designer Bianca Bartley of Peace-is of Bianca. She does a spa line exclusively for The Face Place. It is important for us to support local players in the beauty industry because there are a lot of spas in Jamaica, but not a lot of Jamaica in the spas.”
