‘Confessions’ – A satirical twist on domestic violence

Topics: Film & Theatre

Directed by theatre veteran David Tulloch, “Confessions” is a satirical comedy that explores domestic abuse. The script is atypical, with the conventional gender roles being reversed as it relates to victim and abuser. Martin (Jean-Paul Menou), a househusband who suffers physical and emotional duress at the hands of his new wife, Ann (Stephanie Hazle), ponders the genesis of his misfortune as he searches for a way out of the situation.

Martin believes his actions in the past have finally caught up with him. This leads him to the conclusion that penance is his saving grace.

Opening night for this production is Friday, April 1 at the Theatre Place on Haining Road in New Kingston. Confessions” will  run for three weeks, from April 1 through to April 17.
